Maybe you’re struggling to rustle up any excitement at all.
For anything.
Trust us when we tell you that you aren’t alone. Times are hard, and they are scary for many of us.
However, that’s what makes our art even more important, more needed.
The Femme Audio Takeover has always been about femme strength, talent, and ability. While we can’t speak for you, we can definitely say that we would love to soak in more of all of that right about now.
If you don’t have the energy to find a narrator and ask them to perform a piece of your work, consider submitting one to the Wildcard form below.
If you have an audiobook that fits the FATO mission, don’t forget, we’re going to run a private Femme Audio Takeover audiobook promo through Bookfunnel during the whole month of July (if we get enough entries).
Remember, you don’t have to pick between doing the FATO social media snippets or the book promo! Do both, if you’d like! But we’re hoping this additional way of increasing awareness around your awesome femme characters and the femme narrators you work with will be another way people find your work.
Ideally, we want to highlight scenes where the femme character is asserting/reclaiming power, embracing themselves as they are, or really tapping into their strength. These moments can be a whisper in broken silence, a well placed uppercut during a cage match, or anything in between.
Much like all of us, our strength and power show up in ways as unique as we are. And we need the reminders and these examples now more than ever.
Once you pick the perfect snippet, then you just need to ask a femme narrator to perform and post it to socials on July 11th, 2025.

Please keep in mind that requesting a narrator to perform a snippet from your story is not an obligation to work with them on any future audiobooks you may choose to make.
Femme Audio Takeover Wildcard Snippet Submission
Feels like we can’t do FATO without the Wildcard! You must have your snippets submitted by July 7th, 2025. New deadline, just in case this snuck up on you!
The idea for the wildcard option is to serve two types of authors:
Authors who don’t know many (or any) narrators, but would love to still join a Takeover. Or maybe the idea of reaching out is intimidating!
Authors who have a multi-book/story backlist and wouldn’t mind giving new/aspiring narrators who don’t know that many authors more snippets for Takeover day.
There is a form for snippet submission that asks you for all of the relevant information, such as:
- the snippet
- cover
- scene context
- voice notes (accent, tone, cadence, etc.)
You submit your snippets, and then you get a surprise (or multiple) on Takeover day when you get tagged!
Depending on the author response to this option, we can’t guarantee that every snippet will get done, but we will try to make sure that at least one snippet per author who uses this option is performed!
Gen-AI note: Every narrator can decide on their own requirements, but the organizers of FATO are staunchly against the current unethical state that is the generative-AI space. Please do not submit any covers, content, or art that were generated via an AI platform. Thank you.
